Listening Zone Mapping
Daryl maps every area where you want sound — entertaining zones, passive listening, and the transitions between — and designs coverage to each, so the patio, pool, and garden can each have the sound they need.
Even Sound Across the Whole Property
CertifiedOutdoor audio is an outdoor sound system designed to fill the places you actually use outside — the patio, the pool, the kitchen, the fire pit — with even, whole-yard sound from weatherproof speakers placed so the volume stays even from one end of the property to the other. Light TN designs and installs outdoor audio for Middle Tennessee, built around how you live outside rather than a single speaker bolted to a wall.
Distribution is what separates a designed system from a speaker on the patio. We place a series of small satellite speakers through the landscape, spaced so sound arrives at a natural, even level everywhere instead of blasting near the source and disappearing at the edges, and we bury the subwoofer so the low end is felt, not seen — only an earth-colored cap shows above the bed. Speakers tuck into planting and stone, so the yard looks the way it did before the music.
Audio here is designed alongside your lighting, so the cable routes are coordinated and the landscape is opened once, not twice. We are an authorized Origin Acoustics dealer, and every system is installed and tuned by the studio that designed it. Light TN is a family-owned outdoor lighting design studio based in Burns, Tennessee.
An outdoor audio system is designed to your property and the way you use it, with components rated for permanent outdoor exposure. It includes:
Daryl maps every area where you want sound — entertaining zones, passive listening, and the transitions between — and designs coverage to each, so the patio, pool, and garden can each have the sound they need.
Origin Acoustics landscape satellites, rock speakers, and buried subwoofers, rated IPx7 for permanent outdoor exposure, chosen and placed for each zone — satellites spaced through the beds for even coverage, the subwoofer buried with only an earth-colored cap showing.
Amplification sized to your speaker count and impedance and housed in a protected location, with a dedicated subwoofer channel, so each zone has clean power and the low end carries without strain.
Each zone gets its own volume, so the pool can run lively while the garden stays low — different levels in different places at the same time.
Speaker cable buried at proper depth with conduit at transitions, routed to the amplifier, and coordinated with the lighting runs so the landscape is opened once.
Zones connected to your source — Sonos, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, or whole-home audio — and integrated into Lutron, Control4, Crestron, or Savant, so outdoor sound lives in the app you already use.
Each zone tuned at realistic listening levels — speaker aiming, level matching, and equalization balanced — so the system sounds even everywhere, not loud in one spot.
We walk you through running the system yourself and confirm every zone before the project is complete.
One speaker on the patio wall is deafening up close and gone at the garden. We distribute small satellites through the landscape, so the level stays even across the whole property.
Indoor or consumer speakers used outside fail fast in Tennessee’s humidity, heat, and freeze-thaw. We specify Origin Acoustics components rated IPx7 for permanent outdoor exposure.
Box speakers on posts and walls break up a designed yard. We use landscape satellites and rock speakers that tuck into the beds, and bury the subwoofer so only a small cap shows.
Retrofit audio that your smart-home platform can’t see, so you juggle a separate app. We integrate the system into Lutron, Control4, Crestron, or Savant, so it lives where the rest of your controls do.
Audio cable is far easier to run during landscape construction than after the hardscape is set. We plan and run audio infrastructure with the landscape, before it closes up.
An audio project runs in a set order, designed around how you use the property and built to last in the weather.
Daryl walks the property to find every area where you want sound — entertaining zones, passive areas, and the transitions between — and reads the landscape the speakers will live in.
Zones designed and speakers specified for each — coverage, output, speaker type, and placement — with a wiring plan showing cable routes, burial depths, and amplifier location, coordinated with the lighting design and shared with you for approval before any work begins.
Cable buried and conduit-protected to the amplifier first, then speakers placed and the subwoofer set into the bed, installed to licensed contractor CE-D: 76580 standards where electrical work is involved.
The amplifier connected to the zones, power, and your source, with Lutron, Control4, Crestron, or Savant integration so outdoor sound runs from your existing controls.
Each zone run at realistic levels and tuned — output, balance, and equalization — until the sound is even across the property, the audio version of aiming a light after dark.
We walk you through the system, hand it over, and are here as you add zones or sources down the line.
Audio is designed as part of the outdoor environment, not added to it — coordinated with the lighting, hidden in the landscape, and tuned by the studio that designed it.
We design audio alongside outdoor lighting, so cable routes are shared, the landscape is opened once, and the speakers disappear into the same beds the lights do. Most installers treat audio as a separate trade; we treat it as one more layer of the same design.
We are an authorized Origin Acoustics dealer and build every system on their landscape speakers and buried subwoofers — rated IPx7 for permanent outdoor exposure, with manufacturer warranties — chosen for even coverage rather than raw volume.
A system that is placed but not tuned sounds loud in one spot and thin in another. We calibrate each zone at real listening levels, matching output and balance until the sound is even everywhere.

Daryl with Light TN, was very professional and very helpful towards questions and concerns about the lights operations and programming ability, including installation. Once installed the light strips blended right in with our homes trim being unnoticeable during the daytime or when not in use. 5 Star experience, dealing with Daryl and Light TN.

How much does an outdoor audio system cost? It depends on the property — the number of zones, the speaker type and count each area needs, the amplification, and the smart-home integration. A Light TN outdoor audio system is scoped to the property, not sold as a package, and you get an itemized number before any work begins.
Zone count is the primary driver — each zone adds amplifier channels, volume control, and speaker runs. Speaker type and count matter too: a small patio may take two to four satellites, a large yard six to ten for even coverage, plus the buried subwoofers the low end needs. Cable distance and burial, and the depth of smart-home integration, round out the scope.
Outdoor audio is scoped to the property by zone and speaker count rather than fixed tiers. You receive an itemized investment with your design, and the on-site consultation is complimentary.
Listening zone mapping, Origin Acoustics speakers and buried subwoofers, multi-zone amplification, independent zone volume, buried cable infrastructure, smart-home and source integration, tuning and calibration, and training — all rated and built for permanent outdoor use.
A 15% deposit is due on projects over $10,000, with the balance at completion and your sign-off. We accept cash, checks, major credit cards, Zelle, and Venmo.
