Year-Round Light Built Into the Roofline

Permanent roofline lighting is a low-profile LED track built into your fascia or soffit, running the full roofline and controlled from your phone. Light TN installs permanent roofline lighting for Middle Tennessee, and one system does two jobs: a clean, warm architectural glow for everyday, and programmable color for the nights you want it — game days, holidays, a season’s first snow — without anyone going up a ladder again.

A permanent system earns its place by disappearing. The LEDs sit a fraction of an inch deep in a weather-rated channel clipped under the fascia line, spaced close enough to read as a continuous line of light rather than dots, and tucked so the trim looks untouched in daylight. Each diode is individually addressable, so the same run that holds a single warm white most nights can carry a color, a gradient, or a slow animation when you want one.

Daryl Bentfield begins by measuring every run; the project ends with the system lit after dark and handed to your phone. We install BlueHopper by Inception Lighting, rated IP65/IP67 with a 50,000-hour LED life, to licensed contractor CE-D: 76580 standards. Light TN is a family-owned outdoor lighting design studio based in Burns, Tennessee, and among the first to install permanent roofline systems in the Nashville market.

Permanent roofline lighting is the right service for:

  • Homes with complex rooflines — multiple gables, dormers, and peaks
  • Owners tired of putting up and taking down seasonal lights every year
  • Rooflines where ladder work is difficult or unsafe to do by hand
  • Properties that want everyday warm-white accent, not just occasion color
  • Commercial buildings wanting permanent accent without recurring labor

What's Included

A roofline system is engineered to your specific roofline and built to last in the weather, not assembled from an off-the-shelf kit. It includes:

Roofline Measurement and Layout

Daryl measures every run, gable, peak, and dormer and maps the exact linear footage, so the channel follows the architecture cleanly and the fixture count and power load are calculated to the real roofline, not estimated.

BlueHopper LED Channel

We install BlueHopper by Inception Lighting — the company that wrote the permanent-roofline protocol — rated IP65/IP67, FCC and IC certified, with a 50,000-hour LED life and individually addressable RGBW diodes that also hold a clean warm white.

Concealed Fascia Mounting

Low-profile clips set the channel tight under the fascia, soffit, or eave line in line with the trim, with mounting matched to your fascia material, so the system reads as part of the house by day and a line of light by night.

Weather-Rated Wiring and Power

Wiring routed through protected paths with weatherproof connectors at every junction, and a transformer sized to your linear footage and load — the electrical discipline a permanent outdoor system needs to run for years.

Warm White and Color Programming

Everyday warm white set to the temperature that suits your home, plus a starting library of color scenes for seasons, game days, and occasions, tuned on site so the line reads even across the whole roofline.

App Control and Scheduling

The system pairs to the BlueHopper app on iOS and Android, with scheduling for dusk-to-dawn or by date, and a controller that holds your schedule through a power outage. We set it up and walk you through it before we leave.

Lifetime Fixtures, Backed Install

BlueHopper fixtures carry a manufacturer lifetime warranty, and every Light TN installation is backed by a one-year workmanship warranty on the mounting, wiring, and connections.

After-Dark Activation

We power the full system after dark so you can see every run at full output, calibrate brightness and scenes with you, and confirm the line is even before sign-off.

Roofline Lighting Challenges We Solve

Annual Ladder Work - Permanent Roofline Lighting

Annual Ladder Work

Putting lights up and taking them down every year, with the time and the rooftop risk that comes with it. A permanent system goes in once and runs from your phone, so no one climbs the roof again.

Inconsistent Color and Failing Strings - Permanent Roofline Lighting

Inconsistent Color and Failing Strings

Consumer strings that drift in color between runs and burn out mid-line. BlueHopper diodes run one consistent color across the whole roofline and hold it, with a 50,000-hour LED life behind them.

One Look, One Occasion - Permanent Roofline Lighting

One Look, One Occasion

Strings that lock you into a single display for one time of year. A permanent system holds everyday warm white most nights and switches to any color or scene when you want one, all year.

Hardware You See in Daylight - Permanent Roofline Lighting

Hardware You See in Daylight

Clips, cords, and bulbs that show on the house all year. The channel sits a fraction of an inch deep, tight to the trim, so the roofline looks untouched by day.

Recurring Cost on Commercial Buildings - Permanent Roofline Lighting

Recurring Cost on Commercial Buildings

Businesses paying for seasonal install labor year after year. A permanent system removes the recurring labor and runs everyday accent plus programmable color on a schedule.

How Permanent Roofline Lighting Works

The Design-First Process

A roofline project moves through six steps, engineered for a clean, permanent result that holds up in Middle Tennessee weather.

Step 1: Roofline Consultation and Measurement

Timeline: Week 1

Daryl walks the property to measure every roofline run, find the power access, photograph the fascia and soffit conditions, and map the layout to your home’s architecture.

Step 2: System Design and Components

Timeline: 5–7 Business Days

We design the complete system — linear footage per run, transformer sizing, wire routing, and mounting hardware for your specific fascia material — show you the layout and a rendering of the lit roofline, and order the components to your home before anything is mounted.

Step 3: Power Circuit Preparation

Timeline: Before Install

We confirm your panel can carry the system load and identify the right circuit, or set a dedicated one, so the system has clean, correctly sized power from day one.

Step 4: Roofline Installation

Timeline: About 1 Day per 100 Linear Feet

The team mounts the channel along the full roofline with concealed clips matched to your fascia, routes the wiring through protected paths, and connects the power to licensed contractor CE-D: 76580 standards.

Step 5: App Setup and Scene Programming

Timeline: Same Day as Installation

We pair the system to the BlueHopper app and your phone, program your starting scene library, and walk you through controlling it yourself.

Step 6: After-Dark Activation and Sign-Off

Timeline: Installation Evening

We activate the full system after dark, calibrate brightness and scenes with you, and confirm every run reads even before the project is complete.

What Sets Us Apart

Roofline is an engineered electrical installation, not a string of lights — designed to the architecture, sized for the load, and installed by a team that has done it across hundreds of Middle Tennessee homes.

Permanent Roofline Lighting - what sets Light TN apart

BlueHopper, by the Protocol's Inventors

We install BlueHopper by Inception Lighting, the company that invented the permanent-roofline protocol — IP65/IP67 rated, FCC and IC certified, with a 50,000-hour LED life. Not every permanent system is built to the same standard, and the hardware is the part you live with for years.

The Electrical Discipline Behind Every Install

A permanent roofline system needs a correctly sized transformer, load-calculated circuits, and weatherproof wiring built for the outdoors. We engineer the power before the channel goes up, and the LEDs draw about 87% less energy than traditional incandescent seasonal strings.

Among Nashville's First and Most Experienced

Light TN has installed permanent roofline systems for more than five years, among the first in the Nashville market, across more than 500 outdoor lighting projects. Complex gables, steep pitches, and commercial facades are roofline scenarios we have already solved.

Investment and Pricing

How much does permanent roofline lighting cost? It is priced by linear footage and roofline complexity — multi-gable homes, steep pitches, and commercial facades take more channel, more mounting, and more time than a simple single-story line. A Light TN roofline system is measured and scoped to your exact roofline, and you get an itemized number before any work begins.

Key Cost Factors

Linear footage is the main driver, along with roofline complexity — gables, dormers, peaks, and pitch — the fascia material and how the channel must mount to it, the power circuit the system needs, and whether the building is residential or commercial. We measure the actual roofline, so the number fits the house.

Project Investment Ranges

Most installed roofline systems run $30–$65 per linear foot, including fixtures, track, wiring, transformer, and app setup.
A typical home of 150–250 linear feet generally lands between about $4,500 and $16,000, depending on roofline complexity and pitch.
Complex multi-gable and commercial rooflines run higher.

What's Included

Roofline measurement and layout, the BlueHopper LED channel and concealed mounting, weather-rated wiring and a correctly sized transformer, warm white and color scene programming, app setup and scheduling, after-dark activation, a manufacturer lifetime fixture warranty, and a one-year workmanship warranty.

Payment Terms

A 15% deposit is due on projects over $10,000, with the balance at completion and your sign-off. We accept cash, checks, major credit cards, Zelle, and Venmo.
