Terms of Service

Template only — not legal advice. Have an attorney review before publishing, and make sure the warranty, payment, liability, and dispute-resolution terms match your written client agreements and Tennessee law. Replace bracketed items.

Effective date: [Month Day, Year]

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of www.lighttn.com(the “Site”) and your engagement with Light TN, the trade name of PLL, LLC, a family-owned outdoor lighting design studio based in Burns, Tennessee (“Light TN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or requesting our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These Terms apply to the Site and general inquiries. Any project we perform is also governed by a separate written proposal or agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

1. Our Services

Light TN designs and installs outdoor lighting and related systems for residential and commercial properties in Middle Tennessee, performed to Tennessee licensed contractor standards (CE-D: 76580). Information on the Site is provided for general purposes and does not by itself create a contract for any project.

2. Consultations, Estimates, and Proposals

We typically begin with an on-site assessment and may provide renderings, design plans, and a written proposal. Any estimate, range, or proposal is for planning purposes and is not a binding commitment until set out in a written agreement signed or accepted by both you and Light TN. Pricing, scope, and timelines may change based on site conditions, your selections, material availability, and other factors.

3. Pricing and Payment

Project pricing is scoped to the property and stated in your written proposal or agreement. Payment terms, deposits, and accepted payment methods are described in that agreement. Unless your agreement states otherwise, amounts are due as invoiced, and unpaid balances may be subject to suspension of work and any remedies available under your agreement and applicable law.

4. Scope and Changes

The work we perform is limited to what is described in your written agreement. Changes to the scope — additional fixtures, areas, or features — may require a written change order and may affect price and schedule.

5. Warranties

Any warranties for a project are those stated in your written agreement, which may include manufacturer warranties on fixtures and a workmanship warranty on installation. Except as expressly stated in a written agreement, the Site and its content are provided without warranties of any kind, and nothing on the Site creates a warranty or guarantee of any result. Warranties do not cover damage from misuse, alterations by others, weather or acts of nature, or normal wear, except as your agreement provides.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content — including text, graphics, photographs, renderings, logos, and design materials — are owned by Light TN or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Lighting designs, renderings, plans, and specifications we prepare remain the property of Light TN unless your written agreement provides otherwise. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.

7. Acceptable Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data
  • Use the Site to transmit harmful, unlawful, or infringing material
  • Scrape, harvest, or misuse content or contact information

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site may use or link to third-party services (for example, scheduling, analytics, or social media). We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third-party services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Light TN disclaims all warranties relating to the Site, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Light TN and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Liability for any project is governed by your written agreement.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Light TN and its owners, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in [County], Tennessee will have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms, except where your written project agreement provides a different dispute-resolution process, which will control for that project.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and post the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
